Here’s my answer. I used to see groups of tour rushing in le Lourve to see only the famous top five artworks; I saw people complain about not having enough time to shop when we were in one of the most beautiful ancient city listed on UNSCO in Croatia; I’ve also seen a passionate backpacker, robbed and exhausted, with no energy, nor support to appreciate the landscape and to journey on …. Well, the biggest difference between the two is how they experience and see the experiences during the trip. Travelers might not like the way tourists’ “fast-food” style of traveling. Yet, I think it’s not that bad at least they’ve tried and step into the world. It’s just that travelers have more time and to breathe in the atmosphere, to feel the temperature; to see only only the landmarks but to experience the culture, history, nature, cities and mingle oneself into the local, in the moment, between the past and the future. Then the experiences become memories exist in mind and in cameras. Either tourists or travelers, after all, we are all travelers on the life journey. We travel in time, space; in this dimension. A tourist or a traveler, just the different way of experiencing life, marching constantly …. by Mila H. 10.24.2013 DSC04442
